Is it just me, or are we suffering from a proliferation of spotters on the forum?

So, the point is that someone who is a "spotter" has nothing of value to add - is that the point ?

God knows what you lot think of heavy bus drivers like me then...

"Spotter" probably describes a goodly proportion of the aviation professionals who contribute so what's the problem?

Some of us are pilots remember!!
Others, such as the requesting aircrat be re-routed past his window are .......well......not pilots :D

Ah - an almost god-like PPL holder.

Oh sorry, I mistakenly thought I had posted this on an ATC forum. ;)

Hey guys, what's wrong with spotters? OK, their obsession with number collecting can be irritating but they are on our side, they love aeroplanes, they don't complain about noise, and they keep an eye out for potential terrorist activities around airport perimeters. Plus, I know for a fact that many of today's aviation professionals, myself included, started off as spotters. Some still are, even if they hesitate to admit it!

Once you’re ‘in’ (after years of hard work) it seems a few people relish behaving as if they just got lucky and pooh-pooh the position of others further down the line, where they forget they once stood.

If you stop to marvel at the magic of flight - you’re a spotter.

(Collecting numbers & reg’s. is just ‘a take’ on kleptomania)

Hi GRRRrrrr..... long time.

I see you still enjoy your little puerilities......

Why are you having so much trouble with vo cab u lary (http://www.yourdictionary.com/ahd/v/v0134800.html) today??? Peering into your TV set must be frying your brain-bucket.

Rather than take cheap shots and sad digs at spotters, why don't you show them some encouragement... Say something nice for a change... You and Jizzmacho must be best buddies with that tragic attitude of yours!! You are both angry little men.

Ahhh...... obviously another pilot-hating blunt. What happened to upset you so much? Why so hurt?

Spotters are ok even if they ARE weird. And like was already mentioned, they scare off the Aye-slamdic terrorists. Well, during daylight hours at least.

I always give them a wave when we taxi by.

You and Jizzmacho must be best buddies

Leave me out of your little spat there Scrubby my friend. I'd be lying if I denied standing on top of the Queen's Building at Heathrow next to a guy with a scanner listening to what was going on.
