Pilot harassment by laser to point to prison:ok:
Aiming laser beams at operators of airplanes …would be a felony in Florida under a bill passed Thursday and sent to Gov. Jeb Bush.

The measure was inspired by reports from pilots in other states of lasers being aimed into cockpits, said Senate bill sponsor Jim Sebesta, R-St. Petersburg. Leslie Waters, a Republican from Seminole, was the House sponsor.

So someone listens to pilots

Hopefully the penalties are the equivalent of "attempted mass murder"

(probably "life" in USA, 12 months probation in UK, a BD100 fine (for a national) or BD1000 (for an expat) in BAH, and a visit to "chop-chop-square" in JED ;) )

Mostly Harmless

Since the U.S. government is going to point lasers at aircraft to warn them that they are about to enter restricted areas around the Washington D.C. area… does this mean that the government could now go to jail?

So not inspired by the CSI-Miami episode about laser flash then?

Seemed a bit of co-incidence. :D

There´s a nice lightshow weekends just north of geneva, with laser beams all over the shop. Quite distracting on the approach.
