How do you guys log time on a level D flight sim? I overheard a conversation in which someone said that level D time was loggable as actual aircraft flight time. I've searched the Transport Canada web site but no joy. I'm interested in hearing how others are logging this time.

thanks.

Simulator time is loggable, and counts for training and some recency of experience time according to the FAA (e.g., 61.1B1, 61.1B3, 61.45A, 61.51B...). CAA/JAA/Transport Canada may be different.

Isn't Level D for Microsoft Flight sim?

Dunno about MS...

In the US, Level D is a full-motion sim with visuals, representing a specific category/class/type of aircraft .

It’s a little bit more complex that. Dependant upon where you are the standards are generally (some other countries authorities do also define their own standards) defined within:-

JAR-STD-1A amendment 3 dated 1st July 2003
FAA AC-120-40B & Draft of AC120-40C
ICAO Manual of Criteria for Qualification of Flight Simulators
