Hi

Can any of you guys who fly in the north west shed light on what type of aircraft was flying southbound through the valley that joins Keswick to Ambleside at 1735 local on Friday afternoon?

I was several miles above but the visbility was so good I tracked it for several minutes. It was white in colour (from above) and appeared to be travelling at an impressive speed.

Unlikely to be any type of military as they generally comply with the 'one-way' system in the Low Flying Area, and that is northbound up the Windermere and Thirlmere valleys. To do otherwise would be inviting a suprise at a closing speed of 900kts+!

I only know because I'm planning a trip up those valleys next Monday in a light twin and would rather be surprised from behind (if you pardon the expression!) than head on.
