I have a foreign CPL/IR which is covered by the International CAA (ICAO). Could anyone advice me how to get a conversion to a UK CPL IR licence as I am now residing in the UK.

Thanks

Hello Dyer

Not sure exactly what you need to do, as I believe it does vary depending on your experience level. I suggest that you have a word with the FTO that I trained at; Flightpass, down at Exeter, in the South West of the UK.

They had a guy converting his FAA IR when I was on course last year, so I know that they do them. I did my JAR MEP/IR with them and I was very pleased with the training and facilities etc.

01392 444740 is their number.

Good luck.

If you hold an ATPL with 3000 hours on aircraft above 30,000kg talk to CAA.
Otherwise it's:
Pass the exams- 14 for an ATPL having done approved Ground school ( cause you don't have an ATPL) either fulltime or distance learning ( it's 9 + 7 for CPL/IR so it better to do ATPL).

Flying wise it's hours as required to meet the standard for the CPL and a MINIMUM of 15 hours for the I/R.

It's in LASORs if your want the reference.
