Well Whirly, I choose the Sunday so that you could make it!

Hope you can get down there. :)

It clashes with the Flyer student day out at Duxford, but I've already been there 3 times so I will probably drive in...Unless anyone's making the short hop from Kemble or around the Bristol area. ;)

Where's the tax disk? ;)

Good idea for a fly-in, never actually managed to get to a pprune one before. Will try to get there first (to make sure I meet absolutely everyone, obviously, not just in case I succeed in embarrassing myself somehow :O ).

I hope to be there, the 'plane's booked, and I look forward to seeing you all.

Anyone want a lift from Sleap? In a C150, not a helicopter. Preferably someone who can read a map, so that I can look at the view and not have to do any work. :)

Ah, maybe I could bring my New Toy™ along.

Was planning a slow trip up to Scotland, but that's been scuppered. I suppose this could the start of a westward week instead.

Well If I am not working then I think I may just pop down. Not been to Compton for years, did pass it a few days ago though on a photo shoot. Always a nice field to spend a sunny afternoon sat watching the world go by.

For those who, like myself, are unable to make the Sunday due to other commitments a small group of us are having a fly-in to Dunkeswell on the Bank Holiday Monday the 30th May.

Anybody is welcome to join us, arriving in time for lunch. :)

Hope to be there, either in a Falke or Piper Cub (both of which are yellow).

Going to miss it for the stupidest of reasons. This dim twit only let his medical expire on the 21st and can't get a renewal (assuming I pass :uhoh: ) until the 30th! Yup that's right, I found a wonderful AME who is prepared to work on a Bank Holiday!!

Compton Flying Club
24th May 2005, 08:20
Theres a guy that we send everyone to called Dr Gray who lives Compton side of Salisbury who can usually do medicals at short notice....

you all have fun

LowNSlow
26th May 2005, 10:34
Barcli hopefully the British summer weather won't prevent more Pprune Private Flying fly-Ins this year!

In Altissimus
26th May 2005, 14:23
This is looking a bit grim - only 3 'planes attending?

Whirlybird
26th May 2005, 14:54
Don't think I can make it...but still hoping. The annoying thing is, just this week I could have made it on the Saturday. :{

ChampChump
26th May 2005, 22:33
It might be four...but I'm too superstitious to do more than whisper.
Even then, I'll only confess to being me if I arrive in a smooth and seemly fashion. :uhoh: Otherwise I'm somebody else who borrowed my aeroplane...

In any event, I'm no substitute for Genghis et al :{

Brooklands
27th May 2005, 16:23
Well I fully expect to be there, if only to see In Altissimus's New ToyTM (rats can't do superscripts).

Look forward to meeting anyone else who actually manages to make it. I'll be in a new(-ish) 172 G-WACM, with a couple of non-ppruners.

Banjo
28th May 2005, 20:08
Well I will be flying,
sadly though not near CA. Why won't the passangers let you go where YOU want and not where they want to go. Maybe another day.

All have fun.

Phoenix09
29th May 2005, 19:42
Just wondering if anybody made it down to Compton Abbas today especially In Altissimus in his New ToyTM :)

If anybody is looking for somewhere to go tomorrow a few of us are flying down to Dunkeswell for lunch from White Waltham, Redhill and Thruxton.

Papa Charlie
29th May 2005, 21:05
That's sounds great - I'll see if I can make it. :)

ChampChump
29th May 2005, 21:40
It's a little embarrassing to admit I made it, in a fairly seemly fashion too, so could admit to being myself, only to realise I'd not the slightest memory of the aeroplanes I was looking for. :uhoh:

Is that a good definition of dumb?

CC

bletchleytugie
30th May 2005, 07:09
Brooklands and I made it, Champ Chump where you in G-TECC, becasue if you were, I smiled at you as we walked in opposite directions to and from our respecitve mounts.

Thanks for giving me a reason to go somewhere outside of my normal operating area - its a fair old haul in Falke.

ChampChump
30th May 2005, 23:14
Affirm! Sorry I didn't connect effectively, but I'll learn to be more proactive one day....

You don't want another Falke do you.....? I don't want to be an airline anymore.

Bletclytuggie - good to see you and Brooklands / In Altissimus on Sunday!

Sorry Mrs CB, Minor CB and I drove (as it's local and my potential planned flight there with Boss Eyed fell through as he had a honky wonky hangover from a party the night before! :yuk: ), but it was an entertaining diversion from the gardening!! :D

Glad to say that CB Minor enjoyed the close presence of flying machines and Mrs CB appears to now be relaxing on the idea of letting experience the pleasures of heavier than air flying!! :D

1st Jun 2005, 20:53
As bletchleytugie said I managed to get there along with In Altissimus in his New Toy, and a 'supercell' of CBs (is that the right collective noun? :D ). I'd forgotten that ChampChump said he would be there as well so wasn't looking out for him, sorry.

I've got one or two photos of the day, but don't have anywhere to host them.

An enjoyable day, and we have a nice display or aero's by what looked like an Vans RV.
