Hi Daniel,

I dont know if you know the Houston area at all, but its BIG by UK standards. I was staying to the North/North West and so Weiser and Hooks airports were closest (but still 30-40 mins drive minimum) and you WILL need a car there. I already have my PPL and so cant comment too much on that part of it. We discussed it HERE!! (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=157921&highlight=Houston) where I gave my views on the two places I flew from, so it depends what you want from your training.

A search on 'Houston' will reveal it has been discussed before, which could also help.

Regards, SD..

Around 15 years ago on a couple of occasions I spent a few days at Montgomery County Airport at Conroe, north of Houston. I found it a most congenial aerodrome with some great aviation enthusiasts. Why not make some enquiries via the web.
