Just for curiosity's sake how do I get an FAA licence and does my type rating stay valid???
I have JAA ATPL 3300hrs TT with 2400 hrs B757.

no, for a full FAA license, you will need to take a type-checkride. You can combine that with the ATPL though, so only one written and only one practical test.
