How many times can an A320 type rating be renewed? (assuming that you only have 1 hour on type corresponding to the base check)

Why don't you ask your local regulators? We don't even know where you are!

As Intruder says, the rules vary depending on where you live. There will be somebody who can help you on PPRuNe wherever you are. However, if the only information about yourself that you are prepared to reveal is "Worldwide" then I'm afraid that we can't help.

Under JAR regulations

Have you read the JARs?

I have read the JARs many times and it does not say anything about the times you can renew a type rating

You can renew (I presume you mean take a Licence Proficiency Test) as many times as you need, but why would you want to? Your company will renew it as infrequently as they need and generally that means annually.

I am not working for any airline at the moment. I only have an A320 type rating with one hour on type that expires in June together with my IR and I just wanted to know how many times can I renew it (under JAR regulations)

As long as you pass the profcheck I would say indefinately (but don't pretend to be an expert in JAR rules....on the contrary). But it seems a bit expensive to keep your IR current with an A320 profcheck......

Hi X-pilot,
F/O is right - you may renew your T/R as many times as your wallet allows
Cheers,
