PPL books

Hi - I am commencing the PPL soon. I have the 2001 (Old edition) of some of the Thom books. Do I need to go to the expense of buying more up to date books?

The Air Law has changed so I would recommend the updated version. However, you have to buy the Met as well (as it's in the same volume) which hasn't changed for centuries! The others are all fine.

Do you know roughly how much Air Law has changed? I suppose a new edition means a decent amount...?

How much has Air Law changed? I've no idea as I did my PPL under JAA but that is the main difference - JAA vs CAA as far as I am aware although there may be other changes.

£20 for a new copy or try e-bay - some people sell them second-hand but I ain't parting with mine!! You might to consider the AFE Air Law/Ops book by Jeremy Pratt.
