Hi ;)
Having recently returned from the Australian International Airshow, a question has arrised regarding takeoff approvals:
During the show, aircraft participating in the show were told that takeoff was 'approved' or landing was 'approved', as opposed to the normal 'cleared for takeoff/landing'. After the show, it appeared that 'clearance' was once again used.
ie "F-111, takeoff approved" as opposed to "F-111, cleared for takeoff"
And so my question is why is this the case?
Many thanks in advance,
Geoffrey Balean (YSCB)
