A while back i read a book about an operational flight from i think LAX to Heathrow. It outlined the basic procedures ie clearances, freq changes, nav issues and the rest on the trans atlantic flight. Was illustrated too. Im trying to compare the modern nav gear to the older legacy stuff of yesteryear, and it would be good to use that book as the template and identify the differences.

If any has any idea or input let me know

Sounds like the final section of "Handling the Big Jets" by D Davis

Stan Stewart did a similar book- I think it was Chicago to London.

"HANDLING the big jets" by D.P. Davies is a marvelous book, but it hasn't what you are looking for.

"FLYING the big jets" (3rd ed., 1992) by Stanley Stewart ends with a 75-page description of an EGLL-KJFK flight on a BA 744.

Perfect guys just what I was after, its especially good because the varying edtions describe the flights of two quite different airacraft ie the 747 & the 777. Well thanx for the input peoples, although the exact book i was after still hasnt been mentioned, afterall for all i can remember is that it may have even been a booked aimed at children. The end section of the big jets section is perfect for wha ti want,

Again thanks
