Looking for enlightement:
Is there anyone who has information about an Alitalia AC crossing active RWY in Milano Malpensa on monday endangering others?
There are reports that another Alitalia B 777 landed on wrong RWY last week in Rome?

Regards

Edit: Found this in italien newspaper.

Enlightement self-service: No real drama. Alitalia MD 8o crossed RWY 35L without clearance on monday. Cleared the active and approaching landing traffic a bit faster than at normal taxi speed.

Nothing dramatic about a B 777 Alitalia landing at Rome on 16L instead on active LND RWY 16R. Reason unknown. Perhaps due to longer taxi time more chances to chat with nice hostie? :ok:

There was nothing dramatic about SQ006 trying to take off on the wrong runway...... until it hit something :(:(

Well, well......
Try to brush up my ironic style next time, so you might get the message. Sorry.
LND on wrong RWY could have caused a desaster but that did not happen.
Daylight, no other traffic ahead, behind, entering or leaving RWY 16L, as far as I know.

Captain104 - Your profile lists aviation safety and training as your interests but you seem to think that as neither of these events resulted in an accident it's no big deal? Very strange.

" CAPTAIN 104 "

" CLEARED THE ACTIVE AND APPROACHING LANDING TRAFFIC A BIT FASTER THAN AT NORMAL TAXI SPEED "

Bit faster than normal taxi speed for an Alitalia MD 80 that would be about " V1 " Then !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ azdriver
Curious for any additional info. Thanks for your offer.

@maverick
Quite possible. At least you understood the ironical diction.

@ others
A newspaper in Italy writes something about "sfiorata collisione" at Malpensa and some hours later a german online service refers to that feature in german: ALITALIA AIRCRAFT NEARLY CAUSED COLLISION and WITHIN 2 DAYS 2 TIMES NEAR CATASTROPHE ON ITALIAN AIRPORTS.
Due to my mistrust of Journo-bla bla I posted a thread in PPrune.
Meanwhile it has been confirmed to me by only one source that both incidents happened but quote:" no imminent danger in both cases".

Before we start an Alitalia bashing party lets wait for more info.

BTW
Yes, "SQ006 trying to take off on the wrong runway" and the outcome has been a real drama.
No, I don't think that events which could result in an accident are no big deal.

Wasn't there the incident in Genoa where the Air One was cleared for take off and there was an aircraft lined up at the oppositte end of the runway??
Doesn't look to be so much of an Alitalia problem, but an ATC problem, as far as the wrong landing tfc at Rome is concerned.
The runway crossing happens regularly to all kinds of operators, everywhere!

Anybody remember the Scandinavian and the Citation Jet at Linate? Lots of factors involved......Slack ATC carrying the brunt of the blame there.
Or how about all those controllers that had to go to court because they were playing football instead of working!!

Also, the ATC should see wether an aircraft is flying the approach on the wrong runway, unless his radar wasn't working......or he wasn't looking...

126,7 Wasn't there the incident in Genoa where the Air One was cleared for take off and there was an aircraft lined up at the oppositte end of the runway?? Actually it was at NAP on Apr 27, 2004. Full report here (http://www.ansv.it/cgi-bin/ita/ANSV%20I-3-04%20I-DAVS%20e%20F-GKTA.pdf) in Italian only, sorry (but Air One Captain's report is in English, page 46). It was an AZ and ATC error.

As far as Captain104's topic is concerned, AZ B 777 EI-DDH landing on 16L at FCO instead of 16R on Feb 08, 2005, it is under investigation, as reported
here (http://www.ansv.it/IE/Detail.asp?ID=401) .

Also under investigation, runway incursion, the not authorized crossing at MXP of rwy 35L on Feb, 14, 2005 by the AZ MD 82 I-DAWT landed on 35R and taxiing to parking position, as reported
here (http://www.ansv.it/IE/Detail.asp?ID=403)

Under investigation as well the runway incursion at FCO on Feb 2, 2005 between AZ A 321 I-DIXJ and Eurofly A 330 I-EEZB, as reported
here (http://www.ansv.it/It/Detail.asp?ID=407)
