hi there,

I was wandering what atc thinks about diverting from a non-precision approach(e.g. because it is an offset course ) ,runway visual contact at all times.

do I have to cancel the app, request a visual to fly legally this approach before I divert from the published course ?

thanks

Just say: "Runway in sight I wish to continue visually". That's it.

But...

Some Non-Precision Apps require that you remain on the lateral track till the MAPt (due to Airspace or traffic restrictions). Sometimes this is even in event of a Go-around, although early climb is usually allowed.

It will be included on the Approach plates if it is applicable.
