Hi guys,
Just a quick question.

Do employers in the UK employ experienced controllers who do a "short term" training course, or do they have to go through the whole application/examination process?

Wondering about Area control specifically.

Cheers all.

While you await an reply from someone who is able to provide a definitive answer....

I am virtually certain that NATS (who run area control in the UK) would require you to do a full area rating course.

It is pretty likely you would have to be treated as an ab initio and do the Introductory course as well.. and you may have to apply from scratch. ( though I stand to be corrected on that)

NATS will make you do the whole thing again! end of story, unless you are willing to pay (but at the moment i think that is only an option for tower!)

I know, as an ex Mil controller (terminal and Area) having to go back and start again ain't nice but if you want to work for them it's what you've gotta do!

Prob not what you wanted to hear sorry :ugh:
