According to data still being analysed, the earth is still resonating from the 26/12 earthquake off Indonesia and that the shape of the earth has been subtely changed. A newspaper report stated that the mean North Pole had shifted 2.5 centimetres eastward.
I know that isn't significant for day to day airways navigation but would it ever get to the stage say for military applications that the earth would have to be re-surveyed to achieve pinpoint accuracy?
