Just a quick question to MACC/NT/NV Controllers.

I've noticed lately that a/c inbound to EGNT have been at FL160 and handed over, roughly around GASKO area/eastern side of P18. Also departures have been released at higher levels to Manchester down the western side of P18 (FL150 as opposed to FL130)

Just wondering the reasoning behind this.... Anything to do with aircraft constantly requesting lower when handed over to Newcastle (FL140 at TILNI as opposed to the new procedures which seem to be in place)?

Are the new procedures reducing Co-ordination between the different units whilst also keeping outbounds high and getting the inbounds lower?

Any input from the controllers would be great!

Quite a simple reason really. To cut down on co-ordination between ourselves and Teeside a standing agreement inbounds to FL140 outbounds to FL130 has been established. To counter this the Standing Agreement with Newcastle was altered inbounds descending FL160 released to FL140 after prior co-ordination with Teeside approach. Outbounds climbing to FL150. Hope this helps

We don't need to co-ord with EGNV to drop to 140, we only co-ord if we need to go below 140 before 5nm north of RW05 extended centre line or if outbounds cannot make 140 or above by 5nm before TILNI. Just to clear up a few points.
