Has anyone got any more details about the proposed RVSM that was supposed to be implimented in Africa from 18 Jan 2005?

They are now hoping for Jan 2006. They're selling the need but I'm not buying. Heard the U.S. didn't implement it yesterday as planned. Airspace problems? bah, humbug

"RVSM" - FAA/JAA etc meaning - we all know what it means.

"RVSM" - Africa meaning - Really Very Serious Matters - Africa don't give a damn. Like Aids, like democracy, like freedom of speech, like...all that counts is the Gravy Train. Like Boksburg, GT is all that counts!:} :yuk: :E

Guys,
RVSM is already operative on this continent of Africa-North Africa. We operate through it daily/nightly.
Cairo FIR to be exact falls under ME RVSM-"Middle East", except for airway R2 between position DITAR and ATMUL.
Bottome line-Africa has RVSM already!

As far as I know RVSM airspace already exists in North Africa check the AFRI HI/LO.
