Hi Flyers everywhere!

For any of you who may be unaware, the new London Area Control Centre near Southampton goes operational at 02.30hrs on Sunday 27th January. Please be patient with us during our initial teething troubles - there will be some delays to start with but as soon as we get on our feet, we will endeavour to get these down, safety presuming! This marks a big milestone for ATC staff in the UK - it has been a long process and it will be great to finally `go live` now - any `good luck` comments will be gratefully received!. .Cheers all, BB!

A famous after dinner speaker once referred to ATC Radar Screens as upturned dustbins. I just hope that Swanick stops making you sound as though you've got your heads in them.!!

The very best of luck to you all and speak to you shortly.

Bewli - good luck to all those on duty on Sunday night, I've got a few friends over at NERC/LATCC and I know how hard they've all been working lately. I'm just glad I'm far enough away from it all.....just in case!. .Seriously though, good luck, hope it all goes well!. . . . :) :)

Have a good "O" time - -I am sure it will be fine not withstanding all of the problems and "management" you have had - -expertise and being just the brilliant controllers you are, will see you through.

I was amused to ee the BBC News web page stating "Passengers are preparing for delays ..."

I venture to correct that 99.99% pax have no idea what is about to happen! If they did, they would not be travelling this weekend! The ones preparing for delay are station managers.

My best wishes to those on duty tonight and in the coming days. I trust that 'management' will let you get on with your job in peace with a good large pot of tea at your elbow for when you need it. <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Hope it all goes well. If there are delays. .are they likely to affect flights from Europe heading to the USA or do they detour round the UK? I've got to fly next week.
