The latest reporting point changes (from the 14 June AIP) are now on my site (http://www.nicklocke.co.uk/Points). Your help please:

New point this time around - TABEN Still outstanding from last month - BADIM, DOGAN, LANLO, VAPID.

From those in the know, are these from the "random letters" stable or are there some deep meanings we should record for posterity?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Nick,

No idea how these ones came about.

The European waypoints are allocated according to availability within the ICAO system, although where it is possible some relevance will be attempted.

Looking through what is left in the European allocation, there ain't too much to choose from from now on http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

Certainly no PROON, PRUNE, or DANNY.

Hello
From the Cambridge dictionary......

vapid adjective FORMAL
boring; having no imagination or excitement

'American television is full of programmes which, however vapid their content, look spectacular.'

Few clients today would put up with a report containing vapid generalizations based on a largely academic study of business.
