Flyglobespan have axed this route before it even started ?Why?

I've no idea, but if true this wouldn't be the first time they've ditched plans for flights between Scotland and Paris. They were going to launch flights from Edinburgh to Paris a year or so ago, but didn't go through with it in the end, if I remember rightly?

Did they apply for slots, but not get them? A big issue with easyJet, fighting French authorities and the protectionism for Air France, in trying to gain a larger foot hold in Paris.

Buster 10/10 they had no ORY slots. Doesn’t instil much confidence in their destination choices

I've been keeping an eye on on the fares for that route with plans to book, but their site was quoting me over £140rtn or more ever since they released the flights - about 4x FR's fare and in many cases more expensive than BA or AF! I wondered why the fares were so high, but maybe it was to put people off booking it until they knew they'd got the slots?
