Please move as required to the most appropriate forum:

The CAA has just released the latest .pdf versions of LASORS 2005 and CAP 413, both of which can be found on the CAA website.

BEagle,

Thanks for the 'heads up'. I've a couple of shifts to do this weekend - ideal time to put a cold towel round my head and get some study time in!

Cheers,
The Odd One

With due defference to Beagle's post, the updated 413 has in fact been around for quite a few months...and I am still listening to Instructors (i.e. the "professionals") not using the new version...for example, the details required for first call-up at aerodromes has changed.

Certain multi-site training establishments particularly around the London area seem to noticable guilty of this

Mr Towers, thanks for keeping it here.

With due defference to Beagle's post, the updated 413 has in fact been around for quite a few months...Updated 413 has been around since 1 September, but this latest version "Amendment 1/04 to fifteenth edition of CAP 413." is dated today 17 December 2004.

Given that CAP 413 document is 1.3Mb (180 pages), the document describing ammendments seems a bit steep as 0.9Mb (100 pages)

The 17 Dec version has quite a few amendments to that released in September.

Forgive me for making the obvious comment. :D :D :D

If there weren't quite a few changes to the September version, what would be the point of issuing an amendment?

It means that it is a fairly substantial amendment rather than a minor one.

At least it does in my version of the Queens' English....

Thanks Mr rotor craig (helipilot?) and indeed Mr BEagle.

I still doubt that most pilots have ever read it?

Mr Towers: has this been copied to the Wannabes forum? They are some of the worst offenders! [/tongue-in-cheek off]

It went there first dub:} :}

Also popped it in the FI's forum where good practise begins for every one of us starting out.

180 pages. Who wants to volunteer the changes, until I find a quiet non VFR weekend?

Haven't ploughed through the CAP 413 changes yet, maybe some Christmas reading!

But FISO did suggest that I "hover taxi ... erm, sorry air taxi" yesterday :ok:
