Question for the Microsoft experts.

Running XP Office (English version) on XP Pro (SP2).

I want to install a version of Word 2000 (other language) on the same machine with the ability to easily use either, and preferably both simultaneously. Microsoft's online help on this issue seems to be aimed at IT professionals, and as such is incomprehensible to a lay person. I am not aiming here at the keyboard input in a second language to the same program, which is relatively straight forward, but potential compatability problems involved in multiple installed versions of Word.

Any takers?

Consider avoiding the problem by using OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org) for at least one of your word processor versions. It will deal with Word documents quite happily, and there is probably a version for the language of your choice. User interface is not identical to Word, but some would say better... and it's free!

Sucessfully running Office 97, 2000 and XP on same machine with no problems. Just have to install them in the correct order (97 first) and choose a custom install, then deselect 'upgrade earlier versions' and you should be ok.
