Atca's

Can anybody advise me on how to become a ATCA, and if it is a good way to progress into being a ATCO. I went through the recruitment process last year for ATCO but failed on of the computer tests, although I passed all the rest. Any advise would be appreciated

Becoming an ATCA is a sure fire way to get some experience in the ATC field but don't think that it will be a "back door" as it won't! There's ATCAs out there who have applied more than once and have still failed to get in.

If you've only applied the once, you still have another 2 attempts as long as you're not approaching 30.

Get applying! I just started on 202 and from the talks we've had this week, although it will be hard work, this career looks like an absolute corker!!!

would love to dispense with advice but since im in a totally different hemispere that already means our procedures are totally different.

There are no "sure fire" ways of becoming an ATCO. There are only three in the UK (subject to passimg the exams). One apply as a direct entrant. two become an assistant and progress through the system or pay for yourself through the courses. I think thats it.
