Hope there is someone out there that can tell me if I can get a JAA ATPL somewhere other than the UK and do exams in English.
:ok: :ok:

Forgot to mention I do have a ICAO ATPL.

Maybe Eire ?

ICAO is not a licence issuing authority so I don't know what an ICAO licence is. A licence is issued by a sovereign state or an oversight authority ( such as the JAA ). As far as I know most if not all of the JAA member countries are also signatories to the ICAO, but that doesn't make the latter responsible for issuing licenses nor necessarily confer any interchangability between the licences issued by any convention signatories.

There are 29 JAA member states . This link (http://www.flyer.co.uk/jaastate.php) might be of some help.

Hi,

No problem with your ICAO ATPL.
If your ATPL is current, you could use JAR-FCL 1.016. This regulates the transfer from ICAO ATPL to JAR-FCL ATPL.

This link (http://www.jaa.nl/section1/jars/451854.pdf) will take you to JAR-FCL 1.

Taking the exams in english should not be too difficult, as a great number of states do these in english.

Small ps: Data in the link in the previous msg seems to be outdated. Here (http://www.jaa.nl/licensing/licensing_overview.html) you will find the relevant JAR-FCL-states.

Good luck!
