REDFLEX - Any other users?

Hello there,

Are there any other ATC facilities that use the REDFLEX communications and voice switch system? If so, any feedback from yours?

They had the Redflex VCSS in Dubai when I left there last year. It was a pretty useless piece of equipment with continual failures of both telephone and frequencies; the system would freeze up for no apparent reason and often the only indication of a failure was the inability to select any of its functions. The scarey part is that the only crash alarm available was also part of this equipment! Endless discussions with the manufacturers, as well as numerous upgrades of the software failed to resolve the problem. Unfortunately management were not prepared (or perhaps able due to politics) to do anything about it so failures continued. Perhaps someone currently in Dubai can comment on its present status.
