Excuse an aircraft posting onto the ATC Forum.

Today is my last ever science flight for the Met Research Flight, after 28 years of cloud busting. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

I just want to say thank you to all in ATC all over the world, who have always provided a fantastic service to me :)

I know I have caused you problems, made strange requests, and got in your way. You have always been 100% professional, and helped when and where you could. :)

I will be saying a personal goodbye to my old home at EGLF around 1520z on my way home from the cold north where I have been for the past few weeks. Thanks for the help in letting me fly past guys!

All stations, this is the METMAN. Closing down. Out. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

Shouldn't that be Experimentum In CumuloNubibus?

A long and happy retirement to you.

Disregard my next transmission.

TaTa Snoopy, have a long, healthy retirement!
But remember and spend your pension on some of the less-healthy things!

Edited as I've just twigged it's the aircraft retiring!!! http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/redface.gif Ah well I'll see you on the end of my Gillette one morning :)

Looks like news leaked out, and quite a few people managed to see the flypast at Farnborough and Boscombe. :) http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif
Now looking at moth balls for tea for a while. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

Thanks to the guys at EGLF for letting us fly past! :)

Fortunately, the Golden watch were on in the morning and took the message!!!!

Wish I was there......stuck on the A34 at that time en-route South for either airfield.

In a word.....PANTS!!!!!

Will she ever end up at Duxford or wherever??? So much history.....shame.

Metman. Sorry to see you go. A welcome old lady in the EGPK area many a time.

Can't remember if it was you or one of the other blue chaps who did rile me a bit by dropping radio sonde canisters over the Irish Sea. Unfortunately you were in the middle of the Airway at the time !!

Ah well all forgiven now. East Fortune would make a nice home.
