My older brother is in hospital and my mum wants to get over to see him, could any one tell me how long it would take in a PA-28 Sywell aerodrome (EGBK) to John Lennon Airport (liverpool)?
How long would the journy take?

I am a student so I would still be taking my instructor and I dont have the correct chart to check for myself.

PLEASE HELP!

In typical British conditions, and a typical club PA28-161 I'd reckon on about 1:15 there and about 1:05 back (that assuming about 260/15kn and about 105kn en-route).

Hi Captainkarl,

Just put a direct route into a planner, its showing approx 60mins based on PA28 140 100MPH no wind, also based on starting overhead and finishing overhead so add time for take off and landing, oh and climb out.

Only a rough estimate, but hope it helps.

If it's urgent, it would be quicker and cheaper for her to drive.

That way, you can get on with your quest to find a girlfriend.

I dont know why but £18 rings a bell; best giving Ravenair a ring though. They will be able to tell you more accurately

Landing fee was £19.?? in July....and handling also £19.??

Can't remember what the parking charge was, but remember thinking it was very cheap.

Its an emergency and you need to be there??????

Then forget the dashing "mom I'm a pilot"..... and drive her there! Its will be much simplier and without restrictions such as the FI wanting to get home...........

The thought is great, but in reality..... drive.........

I have posted this previously, but after a birdstrike we took our EC135 helicopter (small) into liverpool. There was a landing fee, a parking fee and a handling fee for the 2 hours we were there. They also charged 30 quid each for our 4 engineers to have an airside pass. In total, our 2 hour stay cost around £220.

Been into Liverpool quite a few times lately : can't be sure because I don't have the records to hand, but I don't think I've ever got away with less than £30 (C172) ... "big airport syndrome" I guess. I wish your brother well : and you can be glad he didn't have his accident anywhere near Luton, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh (etc etc) - aka "Dick Turpin Country" ...

Must be those deep plush leather armchairs that push the price up .. ;)
