In answer to your second question, according to the CAA's official list (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SRG_FCL_APPROVEDFTOS.PDF), there are only three organisations currently offering the seminar: AOPA, On Track and the Examiner Training Agency.

I can personally recommend On Track. I did my FIC with them, and was invited to attend a seminar one weekend (I wanted to fly, but couldn't because all the instructors were lecturing at the seminar). But since that's the only one I've been to, I can't compare it to the others.

Eager Beaver.

I did mine with ETA. I learnt a lot and had a good craic with everyone.

It’s probably cheaper to renew with a 152... but the seminar did show me a lot of new stuff.

All professional and well humoured.

I know these three organisations vary their locations for the seminar, so would recommend calling each of them up to see which one has a location that is most convenient to you prior to your FI ticket runs out.
