Here's a debriefing page from a GA "Fly In" we had with some (60 or so) friends in Greece in the last week of October following a (lalf) summer of GA grounding in Greece due to Olympics' Restrictions.

In case you have not seen it, here's also an excellent article of a cross Europe VFR flight to Sitia LGST and back.

Yes, I was there, so I'll second that!

Great stuff! :ok: :D :ok: :D

More of that please, so that GA gets put "on the map" in Greece. The setting, the landscape, the weather could easily put Greece well within Europe's great destinations for GA leizure flying, if it weren't for problems like airspace classification and FIC services, 100LL fuel availability, silly permits, handling fees and airport timetables that need HAL2000 supercomputer to work out an island hopping schedule... :yuk: :ugh:

But despite those, Greece remains a very interesting place to fly and the fly-in was an excellent event, set againsts some very interesting backgrounds in Crete.

Plus, I got to get a feel of the new Diamond TDI40 :E
