Post 1
Austin Reid is retiring from bmi a year earlier than he had originally planned
Not all bad news, then, IMHO.

Once he's grabbed his pension pot, any bets on the future safety of the final salary pension scheme?

Post 2

Someone on the other thread on this subject raised the Titanic (so to speak).

Sinking fast, get rid of the hopeless Captain, promote the First Mate.

........oh, and blame the Cabin Boy, no doubt. (Jeez, and who'd be a Cabin Boy under MB! Eeek!)

In a statement to employees yesterday, Sir Michael said: "Austin has made an immensely important contribution to the development of the BMI group over the past 19 years and we all wish him a healthy, lengthy and happy retirement. I'm one, and he didn't tell me anything!

Situation normal, then.
Better than AR anyway --- he regularly seemed to tell the opposite of what eventually happened! :*
