Big thanks to all who showed me around on Tuesday at Edinburgh. I don't know how many of you Pprune but I am very grateful and I would recommend the visit to any other pilots, whether just starting out or already commercially qualified.

Thanks a lot guys and if anyone wants a visit to ops to see us try and turn a 145 pax easyjet around in 20 mins ( yeah right on Stelios!!) then give us a bell!

Hi Positive,
glad you enjoyed your visit, sorry I could not be there to show you rond, but know my colleagues will have given you a good tour...I like to think that this is what PPrune is about...getting everybody together, pilots, atc, ops to work it all out between ourselves...If you ever fancy a return visit or anyone else for that matter just let us know...Good luck with the interviews

Hey Bagheera

Sorry you couldn't make it !!

There are lots of guys in ops who are trainee pilots at various levels of experinece. They have all showed a very keen interest in coming over.
Should I e-mail you or Iain ?

P.S When is the best time ( of week/day) to try and get a VFR slot for a small aircraft?
I am only asking because I love flying from Edinburgh but my budget is tight and I don't particularly want to hold at the Bridges for 40 mins. Hope you can help!

Positive,
with regard to further visits best to get in touch with Iain via the phone,as he's in charge of these things. Alternatively pass on your requests to me and Ill pass them to him.
Concerning VFR flight its becoming increasingley more difficult to predict a good time to fly out of EDI ,and the landing fees are constantly going up. Personally I would suggest going to Glenrothes or Cumbernauld and then getting a zone entry/transit clearance to fly over Edinburgh. Much cheaper and less holding.
Cheers

Cheers baggy

I've just done a checkout at Glenrothes on the Tayside aircraft but it is still a real pain driving to Glenrothes when I live in Edinburgh!

I will be in touch with Iain shortly as I put a list up in ops and about ten people were interested ( partly to meet the female voices!).

Thanks for all your help

Positive rate, keep up the good turnrounds, mate! I am, however, gutted you didn't take me with you to meet them upstairs!
Bagheera, please count me in for a wander around, my details are in my profile, or email me on [email protected]
I am one of the 146 drivers who can't remember whether to say "jersey" or "airfrance" all day.

Don't worry about the callsign confusion hooperfly. With some of your 8.33 fits, it's a bonus if ATC can even make out a voice http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif
