I am flying to Lisbon in the morning. If the French are out on strike how would we route so avoid French Airspace?, I know it could route Belgium, Germany, Switz, Italy, Spain then Portugal or is it a transatlantic route via Jersey?

Buttons,

Depends on the airline but if they're equipped for flight in the North Atlantic airspace I would guess out to Lands End and then along the Oceanic Tango routes towards Santiago would be a good bet.

shhhh dont tell them :)

We already got roasted alive 2 weeks ago when LATCC computers failed and we got all the traffic from the southern hemisphere squeezed through LASNO. What a nightmare.

Last Monday wasnt much fun either. LND-LASNO very busy both ways. Mind you, cant have been too helathy for the airlines either, how they can afford to fly at FL240 from Faro to DUB I dont know.
