Hi All,

As I am going to Thailand for a months holiday for the Christmas and New Years break, I am trying to coax my travel companion to letting me hire an aeroplane (dual) for a quick sightseeing trip.

This can be in or around any of the following places.

Bangkok
Chiang Mai
Phuket
Krabi
Koh Samui
Phi Phi??? (I doubt there is an airfield there).

The reason is I'm going to be craving to get my hands on the controls of an aircraft after a whole month away with her. :D

Granted I'll be doing enough passenger flying with Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways between the different towns / islands that we are visiting.

So the question I suppose I am asking is does anyone have experience of hiring a light aircraft (four / six seater / single / multi / doesn't matter) for an hour or so in Thailand? I don't want to validate any of my licences, so a dual trip will be fine.

Thanks in advance.

Charlie Zulu.

I would drop OldPilot (Flyer Forums) a note if I were you. He lives there half the year and is well plumbed into the local flying activities.

Fantastic idea, I'll pop over to the other forum.

Thanks 2Donkeys.
