I noticed the other day a low-flying aircraft warning sign on the B1249 which connects Driffield and Staxton in North Yorkshire. The sign is just south of Foxholes, about here:-

I don't know of any airfield round there, does anyone know what the warning sign is for? A farm strip maybe?

RAF Staxton Wold radar site is nearby - perhaps the RAF like using it as a target with low flying stuff, or maybe there's a helipad??

...and has its own web site Which you can find at www.eastyorkshire.co.uk/eddsfield/ (http://www.eastyorkshire.co.uk/eddsfield/)

The site has an excellent live weather data feed and a webcam so you can see exactly what the conditions are like there.

It is a very friendly field and must have some of the cheapest Avgas in the country at the moment.

Highly recommended. :ok:
