Loved the acronym for Co-operative Air Traffic Services as written about in the spring edition of Transmit.

Up here COOPATS are something that you find in fields and have an unfortunate tendency to end up on the sole of your shoe.

Spring edition April fool or reality?

Acronyms have always been a way of life in ATC. New ones appear all the time. At LATCC we now have the Day In Lieu Duty Officer!!

I always wondered why an acronym was never used when "Tunnels In The Sky" was the hot buzzphrase http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif

Took an American friend to Farnborough a few years ago: looking at the pretty airspace model he said in a VERY loud voice, " We used CCF in 'Nam..... Collosal Cluster F*ck."
We were asked to leave very quickly.
