Cat B (civvi) flight wanting to mix it close to the 9L approach lane today was told to B***er off. SVFR was closed (again) and Thames didn't want to play. That well know military airfield just North of HRW offered to help but to no avail.

Excuse me, but doesn't a Cat B have a higher priority than BAW, BMA etc???

HRW DIR, just a small point: "those bloody menaces" have been given the status they deserve. I just made the observation as I could not understand why an aircraft operating legitimately within the system endorsed by NATS was refused permission to carry ouit his task because of lower priority, commercial traffic.

PS The aircraft concerned was NOT military and is a regular operator within the locality.

3rd runway. Sorry, you're obviously not intimately involved with Heathrow ops so it would be as well for us to stop the debate now!
