Hi Guys and Girls,
A question for you.
If for example you are flying on the Mirsi 1A sid into Manchester, it states to fly at 230kts at mirsi. If you are asked to fly a radar heading at or before mirsi are you required to fly at 230kts or can you keep 250kts?
If you are taken off the star are the speed points void?

Thanks very much.

I don't know specifically about Manchester, but in London, if you are given a tactical heading to commence intermediate approach, a specific speed (or no speed restriction) will be issued by the approach controller

If you are being vectored for traffic reasons, by the centre, before being sent back to the holding fix for a delay then speed limit points should be observed.

Hope this helps.

You're required to be at 250 kts at WAL or 3 minutes before the holding facility if you're on the STAR or being vectored.

As you approach the MIRSI hold , you're head on to traffic turning in the ROSUN hold so reducing to 230kts helps to keep your turn into the pattern that much tighter.

However, if the Area Controller gives you a heading downwind ( ie you aint holding! )then 250kts is fine. Any doubts just ask!
