Guys

Have been searching the threads for a reference I've seen here before, but cannot now find.

I'm trying to finish my tailwheel conversion (gone solo, ok with three pointers, not mastered wheelers) and wanted to finish it on a Piper Cub if possible.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I know there's a club in the South East that rents a cub, but I can't remember which one!

Thanks all.

Contact Stapleford. One of the Instructors has a Piper Cub which I think is available for hire.

I think Panshanger also has a Cub for rental.

Panshanger may have a Cub for rent, but on the downside it's Panshanger!.:yuk:

I think I'd go elsewhere :ok:

Very nice PA18 (super cub) at Thruxton, with several very experienced instructors who will teach on it. I did my cub conversion there a couple of years ago with Bob Cole as my instructor, and have nothing but praise for the aeroplane, airfield and instruction.

SuperCub Dual/Supervised Solo and Hire Rates

G'day all,

I'm interested in what the charge out rates are for Cubs in the UK. We often have UK pilots fly with us out here in West Australia, and they tell me that our rates are 'cheap'.

Dual A$200/VDO hour, S/Solo A$175, Private Hire,(wet) - A$145/hr.

Ours is a 1975 model, 160 HP engine, 230L tankage!!

happy days,

Last I looked, I think that Thruxton's super Cub was about UK£90/hr, which would be US$160ish convert to the local currency of your choice!
