Sorry to bore you all again with the topic of security, but does anyone know where the security regulations regarding getting airside are written down.

We have all been there, as I was this morning at BHX. I cannot get a full airside pass until my third attempt to get a CRC comes back (the first 2 having completely disappeared after leaving my hand at the local postbox) so I am on an escorted pass.

This means that not only do I have to go through the metal detector and my bag go through the x ray but also I have to be bodily searched and my bag hand searched. Today a new one. I had to take all my credit cards out of my wallet in case I was hiding something sharp between them.

Why? ".BECAUSE THE DfT REGULATIONS SAY SO "

OK, where are these regulations?

I would really like to know where these are written down, and what bafoons are responsible for comming up with them.

OR, is it as I suspect that the muppets in security management come up with these great ideas to make it look like they are doing their job (As opposed to actually doing it)?

We then carried on with the day in which I did not use the axe 50cm behind me to hijack the aircraft, none of the 179 PAX, who don't have to be searched unless the metal detector finds something, misbehaved and the one PAX who despite the "excellent" security managed to arrive at the a/c door with no boarding pass because he simply wandered past checkin, security, etc.

Maybe he was hiding between credit cards in someones wallet?

Thanks. It will be good to show the muppet quoting the rules the actual rules! Won't get me anywhere but I will enjoy the reaction.
