From the New York Times, Sep 20:

"AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS ACCUSED OF SLOWDOWN"

"Fifteen air traffic controllers face suspensions or reprimands, accused of intentionally slowing traffic at O'Hare International Airport one day this summer, the FAA have said.

Thousands of travellers were caught in up to 3 hour delays or had flights cancelled on July 17 at O'Hare, the nations 2nd busiest airport.

There were rumours at the time that the one day slowdown at the Terminal Radar Approach Control Centre in suburban Elgin, Ill., stemmed from a labour dispute with a strict new manager.

CNN said that the AIRPORT authorities were considering asking for one months pay from each involved as compensation.

Controllers said that the delay was due to TS/CB activity in the vicinity."

The shape of things to come under PPP????!!!???

Yes you're right....exactly what we can expect !!

I wonder how many people realise how much the rules are bent - almost to breaking point - to shift the amount of traffic we are shifting these days.

Now....where's my lottery ticket ??????
