Exact Power. No, unless you put each engine on a calibrated dyno, then make adjustments for the atmospheric conditions.

I meant as per the book not an individual engine. I am not that naive.

Anyway final 3 greens constructive link was what I needed, the particular engine in this aircraft is rated at 160hp. many thanks.

Hmm... a useful reference site, that, but for the Pipers I know well, (Warrior II, Archer II/III, Super Cub 95) they look like somewhat optimistic "brochure" figures.

Sorry Bose but you did ask for EXACT power, not what Lycoming hope their engine will produce when new and on a good day, as lowtimer says 'brochure power'.

I have the O-320 series operator's manual. Do you want the maximum sea level power at max RPM, or something more suited to cruise?

thanks bookworm. "average" cruise and speed would be ratehr handy if you could oblige?

Sorry, to clarify it's just the engine manual, not an aircraft manual. If I give you full-throttle power vs RPM at a number of altitudes, will that help?

The Cruiser 140 that I fly will give 100kt ias at 2000ft, with a rmp of 2350.

Hope that helps.

Bose-X,

I believe Skyline at Little Gransden are operating two or three Cherokee 140s, one of them (i think it was Victor Oscar) was supposed to be a particularly nice example. It's not far from you so might be worth trying one out to see what numbers it delivers and whether you find it a pleasant experience.
