Read a flyer from AOPA UK about some further developments with those friends of aviation, South Cambridgeshire District Council. They lost a court case (?) relating to a planning decision (v.restrictive) on Little Gransden airfield and their general, restrictive, policy on GA. According to AOPA the council appear to have applied their own interpretaion to the findings against themselves and amongst other things seem to reserve to themselves the right to control runway directions, etc, on new planning applications for airfields.

Who actually does have the final say on airfield planning as relating to safety issues? Doesn't this also have a huge impact on safety? There are apparently other councils looking on with interest.
