Ace of Base, all the above terms are UK. I see the latest CAA propaganda sheet says instructor tests have been increased to 150 quid a go!

FI(R) between 5 pounds an hour plus retainer -15 pounds with no retainer.
FI between 10 pounds an hour plus retainer of approx 25 pounds a day - 25/30 pounds an hour no retainer.
Skill tests about 150 pounds all in.

The above are for an average PPL flying school.

Sorry I'm in the states and there isn't any pound sign on the computer!!!

Good luck with your instructing

Do these UK figures assume that the employer pays for licence and rating revalidations and for medicals? We examiners now also have to fork out once very 3 years for someone from the CAA (or a FIE at £150 a throw) to sit and 'observe' a skill test or proficiency check. WHY?? It is only recommended under JARs - but the Belgrano has decided to make it compulsory. Perhaps they no speako Euro and don't know the difference between 'shall' and 'should'?? And if they can't 'observe' then they have to be a 'dummy'. How true!! But what the hell are they supposed to be 'observing'?
