Local BBC TV news has just reported that a training aircraft with instructor and student has crashed on takeoff, overturned and burned at Old Buckenham today.

Thankfully 2 POB reported OK but no further news yet:

Anybody know more?

Good wishes to victims.

My heart goes out to the poor beggars for having to go through it......

Please do not let this thread turn into an amateur AAIB investigation.

I second that.

No armchair opinions please.

Posted for info only: Old Buck is my local Gas Station and I know 'em all there.

Nah! Cusco was offered a nice long (five hour as it turned out) bimble in a 172 and cried off at the last minute...something to do with washing his hair, or fog, I forget which :}

Redhill to Swansea and back via LKI eh?

Now there's a nice idea.

I s'pose I could've gone to the strip and lit the goosenecks

:ok:

You can all sleep safely tonight.
The aircraft involved was a Stearman belonging to Martin Shaw.
He was not on board. I have no other details in addition to what you already know.

One of our SeethinG aircrfat was at OB when it happened, Trial flight as i understand it. Our quite experienced pilots could not offer anything other than speculation but shortly after take off the aircraft appeared to wallow left and right then descended (suggesting onset of spin). Quite unusual for this sort of aircraft in the take off phase.

Only minor injuries although the family of the individual being given the trial flight (and who were present) took some comforting I understand.

Not sure who the instructor was at this stage (not the CFI) but Martin S only lets people who know what they are doing fly his aircraft so no doubt someone very able.

Unfortunate and distressing but not to be got out of proportion.

Assuming a repeat this evening watch Sky Channel 951
BBC news East , after the main news. Very good coverage at lunchtime today. Very sad to see 26 in this condition.
