I am looking for a Flying School to do the above course in the UK.

Does anyone care to recommend any good ones?

Does anyone care to warn me off any bad ones.

Discretion assured, always grateful for help.

Ive heard good things about Exeter.

If you can get either Stuart Easson - Loganair 360 Fleet, Horace Gallop - OATS Perth (Scotland)base to set up a course for you then you will really land on your feet. Its worth asking.

Try Bonus Aviation at Cranfield,

01234 751800 speak to Jo Huckle

Either Peter Godwin (CFI)or Dave Coulson for instructors.

Both have exceedingly good results and many many thousands of hours teaching and examining.
The school is very well run and organised.

Flying with Dave Coulson is certainly an experience! He's a great chap.

I'm flying with people who trained at Ravenair and they seem pleased with the place. WWW

Try Tayside Aviation in Dundee.

They will always try and accommodate anybody at short notice.

Tel Dundee 01382 644372

I did all my civvy training there and it is a fantastic setup!!!

(Incidentally Tayside Aviation is Stuart Easson's old stomping ground. If you contact him he will almost certainly send you there) :)

Might be an idea to vet any outfit you go to by asking the shopfloor what basic instructors are paid. Some, treat there AFI's VERY badly. I wouldn't like to support them compared with the few outfits that treat staff as human beings.

Try Bernie Smith at Goodwood - probably the best in country - even CAA send aspiring FIC instructors to him to see how such courses should be run - also nice, helpful bloke - only not sure if he may have retired by now
