Rumour is that Aeropelican have purchased a Bandit to operate from Willy, service to start in about 4 weeks. I believe it has been in the plumbing for some time, as they have had problems getting drivers with reasonable time on type. Apparently the aircraft arrived at the duck pond last week from up north some where.

Anyone know anymore ?

Having flown both types I would have to say that the Twotter beats the Bandit hands down.

The Twin Otter cruises at about 160 kts TAS (as opposed to about 190 TAS) and offers alot of flexibility and cost advantages for AeroPelican in a single type, easy to maintain operation.

The Bandit uses alot more runway, is more expensive in terms of maintenance and lacks the flexibility that the Twotter can provide.

They have had the formula right for a lot of years with the correct aircraft for their particular operation.
Lets hope they have a long and fruteful future.

Hang on a sec, itsn't 190kt TAS actually BETTER than 160???

The comparison is more like 150kt Twotter vs 205 Bandit. On the short runs they do that is insignificant.

The Bandit may have more pax appeal though as she truly is a little airliner.

Can't help but think it's more aeroplane than the op needs however.
