For the past five or six years I have been flying on a Full FAA PPL
but am now considering getting my old CAA PPL current again.

I am currently flying around 100 hrs per year, so am very current. Apart from the medical, what would I need to do to get the CAA licence current? or is it a JAA licence now?

1. Medical
2. 5 or more years (but less than 10) requires retraining as per your CFIs guidance
3. Flight test
4. No writtens
5. You retain your CAA licence

The five years above counts from when your last certificate of experience or SEP class rating expired.
Less than 5 years and its just a medical and a LPC (flight test).

Ref section F page 10 of lasors.

The 5 years is from the finish of your FAA SEP.

So Medical followed by Skills test the examiner signs the license and away you go. You want to avoid going to a JAR PPL if you can because the CAA one is for life JAR one you have to give them money every few years.
