Hi,

I was planning on taking a trip to Sandown tomorrow, when I usually do this flight I tend to route from Wycombe direct to Chichester, which takes me directly overhead Farnborough. I have looked at the NOTAMS but am having trouble with some of it, particularly the section below.

Can anyone advise on which areas to stay clear of?
Is it worth phoning Farnborough in advance or just giving their LARS a call when airborne?

Thanks for your help,

J

Of all days of the show, the weekends display will be longer and more restrictive for the local GA community. (The Red Arrows and SAA B747 to name a few!!)

There are MANY restrictions as you said. Have a look at the AIC Mauve 107 (31/2004) (you will need to go in via the AIS website)

There is a nice easy to read map - showing the areas and the times they are active.

Don't phone ahead...! They are a bit busy with other things!!

PLAN on avoiding the area to the west of Lasham Gliding site. However, LARS will be open as usual on 125.25.

Keep your eyes peeles - it is gonna be busy!

Thanks for your help. Weather was great when we set off: ST025 and 5 kts but by the time we hit the South coast the cloud was lower than reported so we ended up turning around near the Solent. Bit of a pain having to do the two flights back to back.
