What a heap of c@#$, the ability to swim 50 meters unaided as a requirement for a pilot position, hahahahahaha........

Could Venture Executive explain how he manages to run this enormous project and all the other consultancy work listed on the above mentioned website while working on the floor full time for a well known aviation labour hire company at Avalon?

Hmm... Re: http://www.pacificsouthwestengineering.com.au/

Anyone know what their "YMMB" venture is?

Is this related to the Stoddart/Schott venture? What's going on with that?

Who is Jens Buche - anyone know?

Slightly of topic but...

Who the fcuk would want to fly with a crew that were not fit enough to swim 50m? Heart attack material or what??? Thinken a DAME would agree...

NT charter pilots walk on water they swim that fast... You would too with a 5m saltie chasen your arse...

Interesting...I think an A320 and YMMB would be mutual exclusive.

The A320 (along with 737 and 717) is a 4C aircraft and requires a 45m wide runway. I can't imagine a dispensation to operate from a 30m wide runway (1300 metres long) is 'JetSafe'.

Yawn, you're spot-on, but never mind the width, check out the length!

An A320 crew would want to bring their golf clubs to hack their way back from Lloyd's golf course to the car park, assuming no embarrassing high-sided vehicles along Centre Road at the time.

So what IS the YMMB project?

Jens was an avionics LAME with Ansett line maintenance up until it folded. He was based in MEL.
He is currently working full time as a LAME contractor at Avalon on QF 747's.
His mission statement on his website has changed many times, notably the absence of Vic Govt backing and financial interest of "global giants such as IBM".
His picture on the PSE site would have been taken at least 20 years ago, maybe more. You would struggle to pick him in a line up based on that picture.

Jens generally vanishes from radar when asked the hard questions. May he can finally put the record straight and provide an up to date pic on his website?

Yawn,
If 737s and 717s require a 45m runway then how do you suppose I am going to land my 737-800 at AYQ next week?
30m is used at many airports, don't know about A320.
Too many "experts" around here.

I am an Ex An driver in Europe and am operating an A320 with a 180 all economy config into 30mx1600m water both ends. 30m ops been around a long while for A320 Ansett had approval too. As for this venture????

With regards to the runway width, it shouldn't be a drama.

We had the same thing decades ago, with the Electra into places like Weipa, only restriction was it had to be a Captain's landing.
